Memorial Day Weekend

Jared, Truxton, and I went to SW MO for the long weekend. My mom's beautiful friends, Paula, Rhonda, and Debbie, hosted a brunch for baby Maggie and I. They are so sweet! And a complete riot. I love hanging out with these women.

Jared and Dad discovered the latest inhabitant of the lake property -- a bob cat! Now I'm just waiting for Truxton to find the critter and hope my dog can take on a cat. While Jared was at the lake mom, Boo, and I had a girl's night-in, in proper fashion of course -- pajamas, fried chicken, potatoes, biscuits, and brownies wrapped up with a chick flick.

We're driving back to KC Monday with a truck load of new baby stuff including an awesome antique dresser we found for the nursery. We also scored a relatively inexpensive rustic iron bird bath that will serve as the liquor stand for Jared's den. I'm looking forward to getting it all unpacked and organized. Just a few good finds to make our little Flinn Village more cozy.

Webster University Graduation

Last night Jared graduated from Webster University with academic honors (3.96GPA!). Mom Linda, Grandma Harke, and I were there to share in his accomplishment and cheer him on as he crossed the stage to receive his diploma. I am so proud! Now with his MBA complete we're ready to jump into summer...pool, bbq, and oh yeah, that baby thing happening in August.

Congrats honey!

Jared Flinn, MBA

We celebrated Jared's graduation from grad school this weekend with some close friends and family. The highlight was Truxton's attempts at "fetching" the pinata! It was hilarious. We're so grateful for those who could come celebrate with us. The official ceremony is in a few days and we get to celebrate his awesome accomplishment again. So proud!

Vacation Ends

Jared and I had a productive vacation week at home after returning from Dallas. I'm sure a week of house work doesn't seem like much of a vacation to most, but we love the time we take off each May to prepare our house for a wonderful summer. In addition to all the projects we completed we also enjoyed seeing Jason Mraz in concert for our third anniversary, May 6; a visit from my dad; and having our friends, The Charlsens and The Sagers, over for dinner. Jared got a little golfing in and I treated myself to a nice long pedicure at the spa. Tomorrow it's back to work for both of us.

Football, Soccer, and Thunder Storms

We've managed to avoid any heavy rain during the kids' football and soccer games today, but as the adult social activities start for the evening we're expecting thunder storms. Go figure! Simon and Jack both had morning football games (no pics) and afternoon soccer games (pics below). The kids all hang on to Uncle Jared as much as they can, always screaming "Uncle Jared" "Uncle Jared" and in Sadie's case, "Uncle Jaawed."
